Cheryl White started in the mortgage business in January of 1999 as a loan officer assistant and transitioned to a loan officer 3 months later. For 5 years she was a builder representative for a local condominium builder, closing loans in both condo conversion and new build projects. In addition to condominium financing, she has worked extensively with FHA and VA loans, including the FHA 203ks rehab loans, which are in demand in our current market. With Cheryl’s attention to detail in every transaction she closes, borrowers are happy with the process and have no surprise endings, which results in many client referrals. Her follow through with REALTORS is also a strong point, resulting in strong partnerships.
Cheryl is originally from South Dakota, and is married with two teenage sons who are active in football, lacrosse and baseball. Thus she spends all her spare time attending sporting events and cheering them on. Her husband is a principal in a commercial real estate property management firm and is an Arizona native.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I could live in any tropical place as I love the sand, sun and sound of ocean waves – probably Hawaii and most likely Maui. There are many places I still want to travel to so I could change my mind after I visit them…..
Who do you look up to and why?
I would have to say Oprah – I enjoy how she keeps reinventing herself and even with being successful in all she does and touches, she still feels a need to do more – to be more and I admire that. She also is generous with what she has and helps so many people.
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Favorite outdoor activity is walking/hiking. In addition to bleacher sitting while watching my son’s sports! I also like to lounge by the pool with a good book when I have any free time.
What is your favorite local restaurant?
Favorite local restaurant -hands down- is Los Olivos – a Mexican restaurant which is still operated by the original family and located in the same building in Old Town Scottsdale. Best new restaurant though is Ling & Louie’s – great Thai food!
What is the best advice you can offer a potential homebuyer?
Best advice is to be patient with the process – anything can come up due to the ever changing guideline, but know that together we will work through it and get your loan closed and you into your new home!
What are you favorite hobbies?
Going to movies and concerts, working outside in the yard and travelling – there are so many places to visit on my bucket list!
Are you involved with any organizations or charities?
I am very active in both my kids PTO groups – I run the scrip program for fundraising at both the high school and Jr. high school and of course working the snack bar at ballgames – that is charity work!!
